Social Entrepreneurship

Hey! Thanks for caring to find out a little more about me.

My name is Scott Fitzgerald, and I grew up in the beautiful state of Utah. Currently, I am in the Marriott School of Business at BYU finishing my Master of Information Systems Management.

I’ve noted some of my reasons to blog and will be writing all about social entrepreneurship: the social sector, exciting news and projects, good tips, bios of social entrepreneurs, and some of my experiences. On rare occasions I’ll post something off topic if I think it is something worth your time or is something I am passionate about. (if I’m passionate about it, it has to be worth your time right?!?! )

I was first introduced to Social Entrepreneurship officially when I took a Social Entrepreneurship class at BYU from Warner Woodworth. He is a leader in the field and been heavenly involved with organizations all around the world. This class has been my favorite class I’ve taken during my schooling. I should have started this blog earlier and wrote about things in class as we went along, but I will try to hit on the major points we’ve discussed during the semester.

My interests include education and technology for rural schools. In particular, I am deeply connected with Southern Africa after serving two years in Zimbabwe and Zambia as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have a lot to learn and expect to be involved with social development for many years to come. This blog aims to be a helpful resource for others who wish to be involved in this great work and as a journal of my experience and learnings.

I’ll also be tracking which posts you find most interesting and will plan future content to continue along those ideas for your benefit. Please comment and let me know what you think.
